Why less Animal proDucts?

Reducing animal agriculture and increasing plant consumption is important in reducing our impact on land use, water use, pesticide and fertilizer use and soil degradation and greenhouse gas production.

We have a choice 3 times a day to move the needle of climate change.

  • Red meat intake is associated with a higher rate of coronary heart disease ( Ref: Harvard Health Professionals study, n= 43,000, BMJ Al-Shaar)

  • Ultra processed foods are associated with higher all cause mortality. 4 servings a day associated with 62% higher mortality. (Ref: Rico-Campa et al, n=19,899)

  • Farming practices and land use (75% from animal agriculture) directly release 24% of world’s greenhouse gas emissions. Compare this to 25% of emissions released by global electricity production. (Ref: Foley J. Nature, Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change 2014)
